WHY YOU MUST VISIT STRATTON MOUNTAIN
What We Loved
In short; everything! From the location of the rooms, proximoty to the village and the amazing mountain itself; we coundn’t have aked for more. Our stays both took place in late March for the Homesick event. We were dumped on with over 24″ in snow in the 2 days during our first trip, fresh powder- YAY! Have you been swimming in the snow? The kids thought it was magical. Stratton has everything you want and more at the base of the mountain. You can drop your board or skis on a rack and pop in and out of the great shops that have everything from the latest gear to jewelry.

HOMESICK Event
The HOMESICK Event that Stratton hosts in late March is nothinng short of absolute snowboarding nostaglia. It brings back the 90s and 2000s memories during downhill, rail jam and half pipe events. Everyone is just sharing stories of the “old days” with their peers and kids. You can sign up to participate or just stand on the side lines and watch your favorites compete. Vendors are set up by the clock tower village to see some favorite brands and gear related to snow.

Where We Stayed
2024– We were across from the village in the Long Trail House with a double bedroom. The accommodations were outstanding- kitchen, dining room, large living room and two bathrooms. Our unit also had a washer and dryer. Long Trail has access to pool and hot tubs and our room was the closest. With the location so close, we were able to run back to room to have lunch, take breaks and the walk to get there was just minutes. The pool outside our door was magical. Swimming while it was snowing and then coming in for cocoa is something everyone needs to do.

2025– We stayed in Mountain Watch. It is the condo building located just on the outside of the village but no street crossing to get there. It was a Large unit with kitchen, dining room and living room, along with 2 bedrooms (1 with 2 queens), 2 baths and laundry/mud room. The parking lot was just outside the building, making bringing in our gear a breeze. The kids loved the easy access of walking back for lunch, running out for dinner and exploring village at night.

Teen Prespective:
There are activities in the village such as rock climbing, swimming, arcades and shopping. Being a teen and having all these things so close makes it easy for me to be able to do things with friends. The arcades also provide a ton of fun, with there being 2 arcades in restaurants and 1 while walking in the village. My brother and I love to go play games when bored in our rooms (which is hard to be), and the short walk to the village provides all the fun and entertainment we need.

The community buzz when events are happening is amazing, for example Homesick is such an amazing event for all ages providing activities to do and snowboarding all day. For the parents or children that don’t snowboard they can do all sorts of things in the village and go to the tents available when the event is happening. There are also restaurants and a supermarket available all day and a ton of food options for people that do not want to cook. Also, dont forget to do the evening snowmobie ride that starts once the lifts shut down.
